Our cabbie Linda (previous post) dropped us at Cooter Brown's - a Tavern and Oyster Bar. I've never tasted Oysters like I had in New Orleans. They were big and meaty and clean. I felt like I was eating Gnocchi not Oysters. The Mississippi sends about a billion gallons of fresh water over them everyday so you don't get that briny flavor.
Combine that with an Alligator Po-Boy and an ice cold Abita and you have the start of a great night.
